Spend the night in a romantic riad, in the shadowy palm gardens of Amezrou, with dinner and breakfast furnished.

Day 2: Zagora – Tamgroute – Mhamid – Erg Chegaga

After breakfast, we will have time to visit Zagora and its surroundings, the palm groves and the Jewish quarter. Afterwards, we continue towards the doorway to the Sahara Desert (Mhamid). Along the way, we stop in the ancient town of the 16th century dynasty (Saadian), Tamgroute, to visit an old Coran library and a subterranean kasbah. We then arrive at Mhamid, where the Draa valley and civilization ends. Lunch will be in a typical Moroccan restaurant.

Around 03 p.m., you will start your nomadic life by travelling along the desert with its many facets of life and diverse components (Erg, Reg, Hammada…etc). We will reach the vast dunes of Erg Chegaga in time for the sunset. This is the largest group of sand dunes in the region, which reach an altitude of 300 m and have a width of 40 km. The camels are already waiting for your ride into the sunset. You will stay in a fixed bivouac, in sheltered nomad tents. You will often be entertained by drum music at the evening campfire. If you wish more comfort, you can sleep in the comfort or luxury camp, in tents with your own bathroom and light.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Tisselday

After a desert breakfast, we go off road to the legendary Lake Iriki. It is filled only by the rare heavy rainfall, and offers an oasis for many rare birds. Most of the year, this is a white flat salt surface, where you can run on it like a motorway. In the distance you will see the magic Zaouia Sidi Abd en Nebi. In Foum Zguid, the asphalt road starts again, and goes back through the Anti-Atlas. Next you travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou.
